| NYC Smooth Skin Pressed Face Powder |
1/26/2014
I am the kind of guy who is one hundred percent okay with buying all of his cosmetics at American drug-stores. I really have no desire for the high-end fantasy products from expensive cosmetic stores. I appreciate the fact that I can go to the store with twenty dollars, and get a lot more than just one item. Maybe that is just me.
High end shops tend to have better quality products. I think that once one finds out exactly how to make low-budget make-up work, they are set for life. Maybe if I were wealthy some day, I would explore the magic of MAC and Sephoras, but that day is not today.
Yesterday, I got something new to try out, and I am head over heals. I got the New York Colour Smooth Skin Pressed Face Powder. The store I was at had three shades, from Translucent (701) to a Warm Beige (703) I believe. I got the middle one, which was 702A Naturally Beige. Rarely have I ever used facial powders regularly, but I am currently experimenting with correcting the way shadows look on one's face. I used it several times already and I am in love.
The powder is matte and smooth and really removes shine from the face. I put it over some concealer to sort of blend it in and I was very satisfied. Also, I personally think that the compact is rather cute. Maybe not decoratively cute, but cute in a relative way. It comes with a rather low quality powder puff that could be easily exchanged with a thin powder puff of higher quality. Inside is a convenient circular mirror. The price was only about $2.99 (American Dollars). Even if one were to just wear the powder by itself, it would still help even out skin tone and reduce appearance of blemishes.
